Divorce is never easy, and it can be even more difficult when there are children involved. However, at some point, you will likely decide to start dating again. The last thing you want to do is discuss with your date what went wrong in the past relationship. Instead, you need to wipe the slate clean, and have some fun with your dates.
In what follows, are some great ideas of ways to have fun on your dates. As well, it will teach you a lot about the other person, and whether you want to continue seeing that person. After all, you do not have a lot of time to waste on the wrong person, as your children take up a lot of your time too.
Take a Dancing Lesson – Of course, it is best if you have some natural sense of beat and rhythm, if you are trying to make a good impression. Just imagine how much fun you could have and how close you could get to your date while doing this.
Go Sailing or Boating – This could be both romantic and fun at the same time. Think about watching the sunset. If the two of you like the outdoors, you may even want to do some fishing.
Go to the Park with Your Dogs– If you both have dogs, take some of the pressure off of both of you by including your dogs on the date. Go to a park and do some fun things with your pets, while getting to know one another better.
Go Canoeing – You may need to take a lesson, but this can be relaxing for the nature lovers (as long as you know how to canoe).
Go Downhill Skiing – I used to enjoy doing this with my boyfriend as we could talk while we sat in the chair lift.
Play Wii – This is a great idea for an indoor date. It can be quite interactive and gets you up and out of your chair as you have fun.
Cook Dinner Together – This can be a great way to have some good conversations, and can be accompanied with a nice glass of wine.
Obviously, there are many other ideas or variations that people can use to create their own fun dates. The key is that divorced, dating parents can have fun again and meet a new special person to share their life with.
